Blog Planner
Blog Planner
Create AI-driven long-form blog strategies, review SEO drafts, and launch recurring automation for your brand.
What is Blog Planner?
SWAI Blog Planner is the SWAI app where you create blog campaigns, set cadence and content rules, generate preview articles with AI, review them, then launch automation so new blogs keep appearing on your schedule.
You use it to:
- Create a blog strategy with AI (Blog Plan Strategist) or refine settings yourself
- Set how often blogs publish, which types to write, and how media is handled
- Generate and review full SEO-oriented drafts before going live
- Launch, pause, resume, or stop campaign automation
- Open Generation History on the Content Calendar to review scheduled blogs
- Edit articles (title, body, SEO, featured image, schedule) from the calendar
Note: Blog Planner plans and schedules long-form content in SWAI. To publish finished blogs to WordPress, use the Content Publisher plugin.
Main screens
| Screen | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Blog Planners | List, create, open, launch, pause/stop, or delete blog campaigns |
| Blog Plan Strategist | Describe your strategy so AI can draft campaign settings |
| Blog Strategy Settings | Configure language, frequency, types, media, CTA, and advanced options |
| Review Blog Drafts | Review generated articles before Save & Launch Strategy |
| Content Calendar | View and edit scheduled blogs (including Generation History) |
Note: Open Blog Planner from the SWAI Dashboard sidebar (Apps → Blog Planner, or go to app.swai.ai/apps/blog-planner). It uses your brand session — there is no separate sign-up inside Blog Planner.
Before you start
You can create a draft blog planner anytime. AI draft and CTA generation need a loaded brand profile.
Checklist
Open Blog Planner from SWAI
Use Apps → Blog Planner (or go to app.swai.ai/apps/blog-planner) so you are signed in for the correct brand.Brand profile
Keep brand details up to date — Blog Plan Strategist and Regenerate CTA use them when drafting.Asset Library folder (recommended)
If you want AI to use brand photos, have a folder ready (for exampleblog posts) under Choose your folder.Content Calendar (for day-to-day edits)
After launch, open Calendar or Generation History to review dates, edit articles, and manage schedules. See Content Calendar.
Important warnings
Warning: If Blog Planner does not load or you lose brand context, close the tab and open Apps → Blog Planner again from the SWAI Dashboard.
Warning: Delete planner cannot be undone. You can optionally delete all blogs for that planner as well.
Tip: Generation History opens a filtered Content Calendar for that planner’s blogs only. Social posts are hidden in that view.
Quick start
- Open Apps → Blog Planner in the SWAI Dashboard (or go to app.swai.ai/apps/blog-planner).
- On Blog Planners, click Create Blog Planner.
- In Blog Plan Strategist, describe your strategy, then click Create Draft.
- Review Blog Strategy Settings (language, frequency, blog types, folder, media, status, CTA).
- Click Generate Preview, then review articles on Review Blog Drafts.
- Click Save & Launch Strategy to activate automation.
- Use the row menu Generation History (or Calendar) to review and edit scheduled blogs.
Note: On a draft planner, Launch in the list opens the editor so you can finish review and launch — it does not skip the wizard.
Blog Planners list
From Blog Planners you can:
- See each blog campaign with status and actions

Create a blog planner
- Click Create Blog Planner.
- In Blog Plan Strategist, describe what you need.
Example: “A fitness and nutrition blog publishing 3 times a week for busy professionals.” - Click Create Draft (or Cancel).
AI drafts starting settings using your brand context, then opens Blog Strategy Settings. You may see Saving your blog planner… while the draft is stored.
Warning: If draft generation fails, try again with a clearer description, or open the settings and fill them in yourself.
Blog Strategy Settings
Configure the campaign, then generate a first set of drafts.
Header shows Blog Strategy Settings. Use Generate Preview when you are ready. In edit mode, Back returns to the list. An Automation panel appears after the planner is saved.
Settings
| Field | What it does |

| Content language | Language/locale used for generated blogs |
| Frequency | Number of blogs per Day / Week / Month |
| Blog Type | One or more: How To, Informational, Tutorial, Review, Case Study, News, Opinion, List, Comparison |

Tip: If you change settings after generating, you will see: Strategy settings changed. Click Generate Preview on the previous step to refresh blogs.
Note: If Media Type is Folder Assets, AI images are not generated at review.
Review Blog Drafts
After Generate Preview, step 2 is Review Blog Drafts — Review full SEO-optimized posts before launching.
For each card you can:
- See post number, keyword, schedule, and status (for example Generating, Ready, Failed, Images pending)
- Open Review post (read-only preview)
- Retry failed generation or image generation when offered
Footer: Back to Settings, Save & Launch Strategy (busy: Finalizing…).
Warning: Wait for all blog drafts to finish generating before launching. If launch fails, try again after drafts show Ready.
Automation
After a strategy is active, manage generation from the list menu, the wizard Automation panel, or the calendar Campaign automation panel.
| Action | Confirm title | Confirm button | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | Start {name}? | Launch | Automatic content generation will run on schedule. |
| Pause | Pause {name}? | Pause campaign | No new content will be generated until you resume this campaign. |
| Resume | Resume {name}? | Resume campaign | Generation will continue from the next scheduled period. |
| Stop | Stop {name}? | Stop campaign | This ends automation for this campaign. You can start it again later. |
On Pause or Stop, you can optionally check Remove future scheduled blogs from calendar.
The panel may show Next generation time and any last error message.
Edit blogs and SEO
Day-to-day article editing happens on the Calendar (or via Generation History):
- Open a day → Scheduled Content → Blog Articles.
- Click Edit to open the blog editor.
- Update content, Properties (title, focus keyword, language, publish date & time, status, featured image, SEO title, meta description, URL slug), and SEO.
- On SEO, run SEO Health Audit for recommendations (good / ok / bad).
- Click Save changes.
You can also create a one-off blog from the calendar with Create New → Blog (see Content Calendar).
Warning: Scheduled publish time must be in the future. Drafts may keep a past time, but you will see a warning to pick a future time before scheduling.
Common warnings and troubleshooting
I can’t open Blog Planner
Warning: Open Apps → Blog Planner again from the SWAI Dashboard (or go to app.swai.ai/apps/blog-planner) for the correct brand. Standalone access without a valid brand session will not keep you signed in for management.
Brand profile / AI features fail
If Blog Plan Strategist, Generate Preview, or Regenerate CTA fails with a brand profile message, reopen Apps → Blog Planner for that brand and refresh.
AI draft or preview failed
- Try Create Draft or Generate Preview again with a clearer description.
- Confirm Content language, folder, and Media Type.
- If images fail, use Retry on the card or switch media handling.
I can’t launch the strategy
- Wait until all drafts finish generating.
- Fix any Failed cards, then try Save & Launch Strategy again.
Guests / team see no blogs on the calendar
- Confirm the planner is Running (not only Draft).
- Check Auto Generated Post Status and each article’s Publish date & time.
- Open Generation History for that planner.
- Confirm frequency and that automation was not paused/stopped with future blogs removed.
No folders in the asset library
You may see No folders found or No folders in the asset library. Create or sync folders in the SWAI File / Asset Library, then reopen Choose your folder.
Delete or automation action failed
Try again. If delete fails, note the planner name for support. Message: Failed to delete planner. Please try again. or Failed to launch blog planner. Please try again.
