Domains

Connect custom domains for funnels, websites, stores, and blogs. When available, you can also buy a domain or transfer one into SWAI — including an optional email / campaign domain for outreach.

What is Domains?

Domains lets you attach your own domain or subdomain so published sites and funnels can use your brand’s web address. Open it at app.swai.ai/setting/domains.

You use it to:

Connect domain and add DNS records at your domain provider (or set them up automatically when supported)
Optionally Buy domain or Transfer a domain into SWAI (when enabled for your workspace)
Optionally buy a second email / campaign domain in the same purchase flow
Optionally add a www address
Review connected domains and remove ones you no longer need

Warning: This page is not the same as Settings → Email System → Domains (open). Email System is for sending email (SPF, DKIM, MX, addresses, warmup). This page is for owning / connecting site (and optional campaign) domain names.

Domains and email marketing

Your website domain and your email sending domain do different jobs. Mixing heavy outreach onto the same apex you use for your public site can hurt both deliverability and trust.

How domains affect email marketing

Inbox providers (Gmail, Microsoft, and others) score mail by sender reputation on the domain (and mailbox) you send from — not only by content.

What you send from	Typical impact
Same domain as your main website	Complaints, bounces, or spam spikes from campaigns can damage the reputation of the domain customers see on your site and in transactional mail (`hello@yourbrand.com`)
Separate campaign / sending domain	Outreach volume and risk stay on the campaign name; your main brand domain stays cleaner for the website and day-to-day mail

After you own a domain under Settings → Domains, you still finish mail setup in Email System: verify DNS, create addresses, and use Warmup before large Email Outreach sends.

Why a different domain is better for campaigns

Protect the main brand domain — Mass email has higher complaint and bounce risk than normal business mail. Isolating that risk keeps yourbrand.com healthier for the website and critical messages.
Clearer reputation — Providers treat sending domains independently. A dedicated name (for example getyourbrand.com or yourbrandmail.com) can be warmed and scaled without dragging down the site domain.
Easier recovery — If a campaign domain is throttled or blocked, you can pause, warm, or replace it without renaming your public website.
Still on-brand — Suggestions stay related to your brand so recipients recognize you, while the apex differs from the site.

Tip: When you Buy domain, SWAI can suggest website alternatives and an optional Email / campaign domain. You can purchase both in one checkout (one contact form, one card charge). The campaign domain is marked as email in Domains managed by SWAI; site DNS for that name is not auto-applied — configure sending under Email System next.

Do not point campaign volume at a brand-new domain without warmup. See Email System — Warmup.

Buy vs Transfer vs Connect

Action	When to use
Buy domain	You want a new apex domain (e.g. `example.com`) registered through SWAI. Site DNS is set automatically for the website domain. You can also add an optional email / campaign domain in the same purchase.
Transfer	You already own a domain elsewhere and want to move registration to SWAI (needs unlock + EPP/auth code). Usually takes 5–7 days.
Connect domain	Keep the domain at your current registrar; only point DNS at SWAI. Required for subdomains (e.g. `go.example.com`).

Buy and Transfer charge your saved card in Settings → Billing (not wallet credits). Tax may apply based on your billing country.

Existing connected domains are unchanged — Connect works the same as before.

Domains managed by SWAI

Section: Domains managed by SWAI — domains you bought or transferred.

Note: After a new registration, ICANN may prevent outgoing transfers for 60 days.

Deleting a domain under Connected domains only removes SWAI routing. A name you bought through SWAI stays registered until you transfer it out.

Before you start

Connect (existing domain)

Own the domain at a provider where you can add DNS records.
Decide whether you connect the main domain (example.com) or a subdomain (go.example.com).
DNS changes can take time (often minutes to hours).

Buy or Transfer

Add a payment method under Settings → Billing.
Have accurate registrant contact details (name, address, phone, email) ready — required by ICANN.
For Transfer: unlock the domain and get the auth code at your current registrar.

Tip: Use a full domain with an ending such as .com (for example example.com), not a bare name like mysite.

Quick start

Connect

Open Settings → Domains → Connect domain (or go to app.swai.ai/setting/domains).
Enter the domain → Continue.
If SWAI offers Set up DNS with {provider}, choose it and confirm on your provider’s site. Otherwise (or if you prefer), add the records shown on screen at your domain provider, then click Connect.
Confirm the domain appears under Connected domains.

Buy

Buy domain → search an apex name.
Review the selected website domain and optional suggestions under Also consider.
Optionally pick an Email / campaign domain (recommended for outreach — see Domains and email marketing).
Confirm the total → enter registrant contact → Charge saved card & buy.
Status may show pending register briefly, then active. Website DNS is applied for the site domain; set up sending for a campaign domain under Email System.

Transfer in

Unlock the domain and copy the auth code at your current registrar.
Transfer → enter domain + auth code → contact → pay.
Approve any emails from the old registrar. Status stays pending transfer until complete (often 5–7 days).

Connected domains

Section: Connected domains — Domains linked to your brand. Add DNS records at your domain provider to complete setup.

Step 1 — Enter domain

Subtitle: Enter the domain or subdomain you want to connect.

Step 2 — DNS setup

SWAI checks whether your domain provider can set up DNS for you automatically.

Automatic setup (when available)

You confirm the DNS change on the provider’s site, then return to SWAI. The domain is connected automatically on return.

Manual setup

Subtitle: Add these DNS records at your domain provider, then confirm.

Copy the Record, Host, and Required value from the screen. Typical values:

Optional: Also add www subdomain → add the WWW record shown (CNAME / www / domainservice.swai.ai).

If automatic setup was offered, you can switch back with Use automatic setup with {provider}.

Note: Always copy the values shown in SWAI for your domain. If anything differs, use what the screen shows.

Delete domain

Open delete on a row.
Modal Delete domain: Are you sure you want to delete this domain? This action cannot be undone.
Delete or Cancel.

Removing the domain in SWAI does not remove DNS at your provider — clean those up if you no longer need them.

Common warnings and troubleshooting

Domain won’t connect / site doesn’t resolve

Confirm the records match the Connect screen exactly (or that automatic setup finished successfully).
Wait for DNS to update, then try again.
If you enabled Also add www subdomain, add the www record too.
Confirm you used Settings → Domains (or go to app.swai.ai/setting/domains; not Email System).

Automatic setup isn’t offered

Not every domain provider supports one-click DNS setup. When it isn’t available, use the manual records shown on screen.

When SWAI can tell why automatic setup isn’t available, the Connect screen explains it. Manual records still work in every case.

I need email on this domain

Prefer a separate campaign domain for mass outreach when you can (see Domains and email marketing).
Verify the sending domain and create addresses under Email System.
Turn on Warmup before large campaigns.

Site connection (this page) and email verification (Email System) are separate setups even when the name is the same.

Validation rejects my domain

Include the full ending (.com, .ai, and so on). Subdomains must be complete (for example go.example.com). Buy only supports apex domains (no subdomains).
