Notifications
Notifications
Control in-app and email alerts for your brand, and review unread updates in the sidebar.
What is Notifications?
Notifications let each team member choose which brand events they want to hear about — in the dashboard, by email, or both.
You use it to:
- Turn In-App and Email on or off per alert category
- See unread alerts in the sidebar Notifications panel
- Mark items read one at a time or clear the whole list
This Settings page is labeled BETA. Preferences cover the categories listed below — not every alert that may appear elsewhere in SWAI.
Main screens
| Screen | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Settings → Notifications | Per-category In-App and Email toggles for the signed-in user and current brand |
| Sidebar Notifications panel | Unread in-app alerts, badge count, mark read / mark all read |
Note: In the sidebar under Settings, the page is labeled Notifications (with a BETA badge). Path:
/setting/notifications.
Before you start
- Sign in to the SWAI Dashboard for the correct brand.
- Confirm a brand is selected if you manage more than one.
- Know that preferences are per user, per brand — your toggles do not change teammates’ settings.
Warning: If you are on the wrong brand, you will configure or miss alerts for that brand only.
Tip: By default, both In-App and Email are on for every category until you change them.
Quick start
- Open Settings → Notifications.
- For each category, set In-App and Email the way you want. Changes save when you toggle.
- Open the Notifications control in the sidebar to review unread in-app alerts.
- Use the check icon on an item to mark it read, or Mark all read to clear the list.
Settings → Notifications
Path: Settings → Notifications (/setting/notifications).
Page intro: choose which alerts you receive in the app and by email for this brand.
Categories
| Category | When you are notified |
|---|---|
| Calendar | New bookings, cancellations, and reschedules |
| Contacts | When a new contact is created for your brand |
| Webinar registered | When a contact registers for a webinar |
| Quiz taken | When a contact completes a quiz |
| Email responded | When a contact replies to an email |
| Message responded | When a contact replies to a message |
Channels
| Channel | Meaning |
|---|---|
| In-App | Shows in the sidebar Notifications panel (and live while you work) |
| Sends a notification email to your SWAI user email |
- Turn a channel off for a category to stop that channel for you.
- Turn both off for a category to silence that category completely for your user on this brand.
Note: Teammates on the same brand each have their own toggles. Calendar and other events notify every brand user whose preferences allow that channel.
Notification panel
Open the Notifications control in the main sidebar (bell icon).
| Behavior | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Badge | Unread count (shows 9+ when there are many) |
| List | Unread items only — title, short message, relative time |
| Refresh | Reloads when you open the panel |
| Mark as read | Check icon removes that item from the list |
| Mark all read | Clears all unread for you on this brand |
| Empty state | No notifications when there is nothing unread |
Close the panel with X, Escape, or by clicking outside.
Tip: Marking an item read removes it from the panel. There is no separate “history” view in the main panel.
What you will and won’t get
Controlled by Settings → Notifications
When the matching category and channel are on:
- Calendar bookings, cancellations, and reschedules
- New contacts (when the source sends a contact notification with email enabled)
- Webinar registration, quiz taken, email reply, and message reply
Related apps: Calendar, CRM, Quizzes, Webinar.
Not controlled by these toggles (or limited)
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Bulk import / prospecting summary | In-app summary only (for example “X contacts has been imported”) — not a Settings row and typically no email |
| Some chat / WhatsApp-style contact creates | May create an in-app contact alert without email even if Contacts email is on |
| Weekly report email | Separate weekly email — not shown in the in-app Notifications panel and not listed on this Settings page |
Warning: Preferences only cover the six categories above. Other product alerts may still appear or email outside this BETA page.
Common warnings and troubleshooting
I’m not getting alerts
- Confirm you are on the correct brand.
- Open Settings → Notifications and check In-App / Email for that category.
- For email: check spam/junk and that your SWAI user email is correct under Settings → User.
- Ask whether a teammate’s alert is expected for them only — prefs are per user.
I turned Email off but still see the panel
In-App can still be on. Turn In-App off for that category if you want the sidebar quiet too.
I see alerts that aren’t mine / duplicates
Refresh or reopen the panel after marking read. Unread items are scoped to your user. If something still looks wrong, note the brand, category, and time, then contact support.
Contact created but no email
Some flows intentionally skip email (imports, certain channel creates). Check Contacts In-App / Email, and confirm the contact was created for this brand in CRM.
Calendar booking but no dashboard alert
Confirm Calendar In-App and/or Email are on. Guest confirmation emails from the Calendar app are separate from your dashboard notification preferences — see Calendar.

Need more help?
If something still fails after the checklist above:
- Confirm you are on the correct brand in the SWAI Dashboard.
- Confirm Settings → Notifications toggles for the category and channel you expect.
- Note whether the issue is missing in-app, missing email, or both — and the approximate time of the event.
- Contact your SWAI admin or support with the brand, category, and what you expected to happen.
