Page Builder

Page Builder

Build landing pages and websites in the visual editor, publish pages, then connect them to your own domain.

What is Page Builder?

Page Builder is SWAI’s tool for brand websites and landing page funnels. Each Page Builder (also called a website) holds one or more pages, optional variations, settings (domain, tracking), and a Launch state. You design pages in the visual editor, Publish page content, and optionally serve them on a custom domain from Settings → Domains (or go to app.swai.ai/setting/domains).

You use it to:

Main screens

Screen What it’s for
Assets → Landing Pages List of page builders / campaign landing pages
Page Builder → Settings Name, slug, domain, primary, favicon, tracking
Page Builder → Pages Pages carousel, generate/edit, variations
Launch Activate the page-builder funnel
Visual editor Design on canvas, Save draft, Publish, Preview
Settings → Domains (open) Connect custom domains (DNS) for websites and funnels

Note: Open Resources → Assets → Landing Pages (/assets?tab=LandingPages). The detail shell is titled Page Builder. Open a page’s edit / Open AI builder control for the visual editor (fullscreen).

Note: Settings → Domains (open) is for websites and funnels. Settings → Email System → Domains (open) is separate (email sending DNS). Do not mix the two.

Before you start

Checklist

  1. Sign in for the correct brand
Open Page Builder from the SWAI Dashboard so you are signed in for the right brand.

  2. Have a Page Builder ready
Usually from a campaign, Campaign Builder (Create new Website…), or Gaxu (Create this page).

  3. Pagebuilder context
Open a specific website/pagebuilder so Pages, saved sections, multi-page linking, remix, embeds, and auto-link work.

  4. Brand profile
Keep brand name, assets, and audience details up to date — AI remix, Page Design palette, and on-brand suggestions use them.

  5. Asset Library (for images and video)
Have media ready in your SWAI file library. You pick assets with Choose from Asset Library.

  6. Quizzes, webinars, calendars, assistants (if the page uses them)
Create or keep them available in SWAI so button actions and embed pickers can load them.

  7. Custom domain (optional)
Connect your domain in Settings → Domains (or go to app.swai.ai/setting/domains) before or after you build pages.

Important warnings

Warning: The Landing Pages list empty state expects creation from a campaign path. If you see No landing pages yet. Create one from a campaign to get started., use Campaign Builder or a campaign deploy — not a stub create form on Assets.

Warning: If you see Invalid or expired link, Invalid link: page not found for this token, Missing session or page context., or the editor fails to start, close the tab and open Page Builder again from the SWAI Dashboard.

Warning: Save draft stores work on the server (and locally for recovery). Publish is what makes the current page go live for visitors. Launch activates the funnel/app — it is not the same as Publish. A red indicator on Save or Publish means there are pending changes.

Tip: Connect DNS early so propagation can finish while you design pages.

Tip: File attach in the AI chat is coming soon. Describe changes in text, or use templates and the Asset Library for media.

Tip: After AI adds or updates content, Page Builder often runs an auto-link pass so buttons without a real target can connect to your pages, quizzes, webinars, and calendars.

Quick start

  1. Open Assets → Landing Pages and open a page builder (pencil / edit).
  2. On Settings, set Name, choose a Domain if ready, then Save.
  3. On Pages, Add Page (or open an existing one) → Generate with AI if needed.
  4. Open the visual editor (Open AI builder / edit). Wait for Loading editor... to finish.
  5. Review the page on the canvas. Optionally open Page Design from the AI bar to set a Page Style and Color palette, then open LayersAdd section from template, or type a request in the AI bar (Ask AI to change the page…).
  6. Click elements to edit them in Properties. Open Settings → Page Settings and fill at least Page title and Meta description.
  7. Click Save draft, then Preview to check in a new tab. When ready, click Publish.
  8. Use Hosted preview for the public preview URL.
  9. Click Launch on the Page Builder shell when the funnel should go live.
  10. To use your own domain: Settings → DomainsConnect domain (or go to app.swai.ai/setting/domains) → assign it under Page Builder Settings → Domain.

Note: In the editor, use Pages → Add Page (Add page with AI) to create another page from a short description. After creation, you may see a prompt loaded in the AI chat — click Send to build content.

Page statuses

Status Meaning
Initialized Page record exists; content not generated yet
Drafted Content exists; not published
Published Page content published

Previewing an unpublished page may toast: Your page has not been published yet!

Hosted preview URLs use the SWAI pages host (for example pages.swai.ai preview links).

Variations

On a page card you can:

Use variations for alternate layouts or tests without creating a whole new website.

Launch vs Publish

Action Where What it does
Publish Visual editor toolbar Publishes the current page content (toast: Published successfully)
Save draft Visual editor Saves work without publishing
Launch Page Builder shell (top-right) Activates the funnel / Page Builder app

Tip: Publish pages so content is live; Launch so the funnel/app is considered launched. They are not the same step.

If already launched: Your app had already been launched.

Visual editor

Opened from a page’s edit / Open AI builder control (fullscreen iframe). It uses your brand session — there is no separate sign-up inside the editor.

Progress through everyday editing: open → edit → save → publish → preview.

Pages in the editor

From the editor Pages menu you can:

State / action Meaning
Loading pages… Fetching the page list
No pages yet. Nothing in this pagebuilder yet
Add page with AI Create a page from a short description
Delete page? Confirm permanent delete

Add page with AI

  1. Open PagesAdd Page.
  2. In Add page with AI, describe the page (for example: “A landing page for our spring webinar series…”).
  3. Click Create page.
  4. After success you may see Page created — prompt loaded in AI chat. Click Send to build content.

Switching with unsaved changes

If you switch pages with unpublished edits, Unsaved changes may ask you to:

Warning: Delete permanently removes the page and its variations. If you delete the page you are editing and no others remain, the editor may open empty.

Warning: If Pages is unavailable or you see Missing pagebuilder or session, reopen Page Builder from the SWAI Dashboard for the correct website/pagebuilder.

Layers, templates, and menus

Layers

Open Layers from the header to:

Empty state: No sections yet.

Add section from template

  1. In Layers, click Add section from template (or the + flow).
  2. Pick a template category such as Hero, CTA, Features, FAQ, Testimonials, Trust, Videos, Footer, or Emails.
  3. Optionally use Remix / Remix with AI for on-brand copy when your brand is connected.
  4. Or open Saved sections to reuse library sections.
  5. Or open Custom section to paste HTML (wrapped into sections when possible).
  6. Click Add section. New sections are appended to the bottom; reorder afterward as needed.

Tip: Remix needs a brand session. If remix fails, confirm you opened the builder from the Dashboard for the right brand.

Note: Saved sections need a pagebuilder embed session. If they are unavailable, open the builder from a pagebuilder link in SWAI.

Menus

  1. In Layers, click Manage menus.
  2. Create or edit menus (name, items with title, URL, icons).
  3. On a section in Properties, use Apply menu to section to update link text, URLs, and icons while keeping the layout.

Canvas and Properties

The canvas shows a live preview of your page. Click elements to select them; the Properties sidebar shows options for the selection.

When nothing specific is selected (or you open Page Styles), the right panel may show Page (body) styles.

Common property tasks

Button and icon button actions

For Button and Icon button, set Action:

Action What it does
Open URL Opens a link (Link (href))
Open another page Navigates to another page in this pagebuilder
Show Quiz Opens a quiz
Open AI Assistant Opens an AI assistant / agent
Register for Webinar Opens webinar registration (often in a popover)
Go to Section Scrolls to a section on the page

Note: Quiz is a button action, not a canvas block type. Use Show Quiz on a button or icon button.

Embeds and SWAI apps

Pages can include SWAI embeds configured in Properties:

Block What you configure
Agent Pick an Assistant (form-style embed)
Webinar Select a webinar; Form only (standard) or Extended; optional height
Brand Webinar List Brand webinar catalog; optional Show ended webinars; catalog URL
Calendar Select a calendar; heights may come from the API
Countdown Date and time or Duration from page load; units and labels

Warning: If assistants, webinars, calendars, quizzes, or assets fail to load, reopen Page Builder from the SWAI Dashboard so brand and session are set for the correct workspace.

Canvas placeholders may appear until you select a webinar, calendar, or similar resource in the sidebar.

Page Settings and SEO

Open Settings → Page Settings to edit:

Click Save when finished.

Tip: Fill at least Page title and Meta description for basic SEO before you publish.

Use Settings → Page Styles (or the page-level Properties panel) for body background, text color, and related defaults.

Save, publish, preview, and versions

Save draft

Publish

  1. Click Publish.
  2. Page Builder stores a version checkpoint labeled Before publish.
  3. On success you see Published successfully.

Warning: Publish needs a valid page id from your Dashboard session. If you see Missing pageUniqueId; cannot publish this page, reopen the correct page from SWAI.

Preview types

Action What you get
Preview Local HTML preview in a new tab
Hosted preview Public preview URL for the current page (…/{pageId}?p=preview)

Warning: If the browser blocks the new tab, allow pop-ups for hosted preview.

Version history

Open Settings → Version history:

Restore unsaved work

If a newer local draft is found, Restore unsaved work? may appear:

Library sections changed

If you edited sections linked to the saved-section library, Save / Publish / Export may show Library sections changed:

Note: Updating the library needs a pagebuilder session from the Dashboard embed link.

Load and Export HTML

AI assistant and Page Design

AI chat

The bar at the bottom uses the placeholder Ask AI to change the page….

You can ask it to:

Status pills you may see:

Status Meaning
Thinking… Planning or applying edits
Linking… Auto-linking buttons to pages, quizzes, webinars, calendars
Branding… Applying brand-related styling work

Controls:

Tip: Write clear prompts (for example: “Add a pricing section with three tiers” or “Shorten the hero headline”).

Tip: After add/update (and some saved-section imports), auto-link runs automatically when pagebuilder, session, and brand are available. You can also ask the chat only to connect or auto-link CTAs.

Warning: While AI is working, some actions (such as undo) may be limited until the run finishes. If AI seems unresponsive after heavy use, wait a moment and try again, or reopen from the Dashboard (rate limits may fail silently).

Page Design

Open Page Design from the AI bar (palette icon) to choose how AI should style the page when generating or editing content. Preferences are saved per page and apply on the next AI generate or edit — they do not restyle the live canvas by themselves.

Note: Page Design (AI preferences) is not the same as Settings → Page Styles / Page (body) styles, which set the page body’s background, text color, and related defaults on the canvas.

Open Page Design

  1. In the visual editor, use the AI bar at the bottom (Ask AI to change the page…).
  2. Click the Page Design (palette) control.
  3. Set Page Style and Color palette, then click Done (or click outside) to close.
  4. Send an AI prompt (or continue generating) so the chosen style and palette take effect.

Style and palette changes save automatically as you edit them. Done closes the modal; it does not wait for a separate save step.

Page Style

Default: Not specified (no named aesthetic injected into AI prompts).

Styles are grouped in the dropdown. Categories and examples:

Category Examples
General Neomorphism, Minimal / Flat, Flat design, Soft UI, Material Design, Editorial
Classical, Ornate & Luxury Neoclassical, Baroque, Luxury Typography, Filigree, Acanthus, Victorian
Atmospheric, Soft & Mystical Aurora, Ethereal, Coquette, Light Academia, Dark Magic Academia, Mystical Western
Retro, Nostalgic & Pop Culture Y2K, Synthwave, Vaporwave, Pop Art, Pixel Art, Mid-Century, Kitsch
Modern Digital UI & Functional Bento Box / Grid, Glassmorphism, Neo Frutiger Aero, Utilitarian, Modular Typography
Raw, Rebellious & Experimental Brutalism, Neo-Brutalism, Cybercore, Memphis, Graffiti, Surrealism
Organic, Minimal & Natural Japandi, Wabi Sabi, Bohemian, Farmhouse / Cottagecore, Shabby Chic, South West / Wild West, Nautical
Artistic, Tactile & Craft-Based Bauhaus, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Pointillism, Conceptual Sketch, Mixed Media, Scrapbook, Kawaii, and others

Pick a style that matches the landing page mood you want, then ask AI to generate or revise content.

Color palette

Warning: If you see Brand not available; add colors manually or Could not load brand palette., continue with a custom palette or reopen Page Builder from the Dashboard with brand context.

Tip: Set Page Design before a large AI generate or redesign so new sections follow your style and colors from the start.

Asset Library

When choosing images, video, or backgrounds in Properties:

  1. Click Choose from Asset Library.
  2. Browse brand files in Asset Library.
  3. Select an asset (use Load more if needed).

Warning: If the library does not load, open Page Builder again from the SWAI Dashboard for the correct brand.

Empty state: No assets found.

Related Help: File Library.

Common warnings and troubleshooting

No landing pages in Assets

Create a website from Campaign Builder (Create new Website…) or from a campaign deploy, then return to Landing Pages.

I can’t open Page Builder / editor blank

Warning: You may see Invalid or expired link, Invalid link: page not found for this token, Failed to start editor, Failed to load page draft from server, or Missing session or page context. Open Page Builder again from the Dashboard (Landing Pages → edit). Do not rely on a bookmarked editor URL alone.

Missing brand or pagebuilder context

If pages, remix, assets, embeds, or auto-link fail:

Domain not in the Page Builder dropdown

Custom domain does not load

  1. Recheck DNS: apex A @20.106.230.9, or subdomain CNAMEdomainservice.swai.ai.
  2. Wait for DNS propagation.
  3. Confirm the domain is assigned and Saved on Page Builder Settings.
  4. Confirm you are not looking at Email System domain records by mistake.

I can’t publish or open hosted preview

Check:

Preview says not published

Publish the page in the visual editor (Publish). Draft content is not live.

Launch vs Publish confusion

Do both when you want a live funnel on a custom domain.

Save or publish asks about library sections

If Library sections changed appears, choose Only this page or Update library. To update shared library items, you need a pagebuilder session from the Dashboard.

Remix or saved sections unavailable

Auto-link did not connect my buttons

Auto-link needs pagebuilder, session, and brand context. Ask the AI chat to connect or auto-link CTAs, or set button Action manually in Properties.

Stats, embeds, or pickers fail after recreate

If you deleted a quiz, webinar, calendar, or assistant in another app, re-select a valid resource in Properties (or pick a new button action target).

AI won’t respond

Preview or export issues

Unsaved changes lost

Use Save draft or Publish before leaving. Confirm Leave page builder? dialogs carefully.

Need more help?

If something still fails after the checklist above:

  1. Confirm you opened the correct brand and Page Builder from Assets → Landing Pages.
  2. Confirm Save draft vs Publish: drafts are not live until you Publish. Confirm Launch vs Publish if the funnel should be live.
  3. For domains, note whether the issue is DNS (Settings → Domains, open) or assignment (Page Builder Settings → Domain).
  4. Check whether the step needs brand assets, a page id, or an embed pick (quiz, webinar, calendar, assistant).
  5. Note any exact toast message, then contact your SWAI admin or support with the website/page name and what you expected to happen.
